At LAMDA, I oversaw the installation of an LED virtual production volume and a motion capture volume, alongside lighting and sound upgrades across three theatres, the creation of two pop-up cinemas, and acoustic treatments for multiple rooms. I also managed the procurement of filming, lighting, sound, and editing equipment, ensuring seamless integration into the school’s workflow. From initial planning to final execution, I ensured the project met the highest standards while enhancing the student experience. Whether it’s a high-profile production, a technology-led project, or a creative campaign, I bring expertise, innovation, and problem-solving to every project.

Project Overview

Initial Planning

Starting with just a blank spreadsheet and six project titles (Mo-cap, LED Volume, Cinemas, etc.), I began by interviewing departments across the school to understand their long-term technical needs. Based on these insights, I developed an initial £1.9 million budget, which later grew to over £2.1 million as the project took shape with further investment.

Tender Process

I managed the entire tender process, from writing tender documents and setting evaluation criteria to reviewing submissions alongside the London Universities Purchasing Consortium. Once the best company was selected, I worked closely with them to ensure a seamless installation and integration of the technology.

Implementation

From installing the LED volume to integrating motion capture, I was involved at every stage—coordinating between LAMDA and the tech companies to keep everything running smoothly. A key focus was ensuring the technology became a core part of the curriculum, rather than sitting unused. I worked closely with staff to integrate the new systems into teaching and production workflows.

SumoSky Integration

As the project expanded, I helped secure additional funding for SumoSky, a series of lighting bars on the walls and ceiling that mirror the LED volume content, further enhancing the school’s capabilities.

Training & Ongoing Use

Once the installation was complete, I worked with LAMDA to ensure staff knew how to use the technology effectively—establishing workflows, providing training, and advising on key hires. I continue to support the school in bringing in external productions to use these state-of-the-art facilities for commercial hires and industry collaborations.
